
125g (4oz) butter
125g (4oz) sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla essence (not imitation)
1 egg
225g (8oz) flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
85g (3oz) sultanas
Soften butter & sugar in microwave - not long - don't melt the butter. (Much faster than putting hot water in sink & softening butter) Remove & cream
add egg & vanilla mix.
mix in dry ingredients & sultanas.
Roll into balls & place on a cold greased tray - flatten with a fork.
Bake 15 minutes at 190 deg c (375F) (you don't want these to turn very brown - they should be a pale colour & they harden when cool)
