scones

Heat oven to 22o deg C

2 cups flour
4 teaspoons (2 heaped - 2 level) of baking powder
1/2 cup lemonade
1/2 cup cream.

Mix all together cut into shapes & place on a floured cool tray
bake 10 mins at 220 deg C

Variations add a good handful of cheese to mixture & then put cheese on top before baking.
or a good handful of sultanas or dates.

These are fool proof about the only scones I can make. Tip do not over mix.

Leanne, will these work as well with milk instead of the lemonade?

I very much doubt it.

I am not a good scone maker - a good cook with most things but the only way I can make a good scone is with this cheat receipe using lemonade & cream - there must be some chemical reaction with lemonade that makes it soo successful.
